Stained Glass Creation Process
Lead Cam - Lead cam is a style of stained glass in which you use strips of lead based cam. Two of the most popular shapes used are “t” and “u” groove cam. Cam must be stretched but not too much prior to use the channel also needs to be widened to accept the glass then reformed as tightly as possibly around the glass. Then the piece needs to be cemented, cleaned, polished and sealed.
Copper Foil - Copper foiling is the easiest and most popular style of stained glass used today. Copper foil comes in a variety of backings and widths. Once copper foil is applied to the piece of glass, it needs to be burnished. All sides that are to be soldered must be foiled. Your piece would then move to the soldering stage.
